lyrics

Looking back,
I can see how I been blind.
See, the truth about yourself sometimes
is the hardest one to find.
I will learn to see things for what they are
as I come to be a man.
I hold on to my faith, my god
with everything I am.

Cast off these fears.
Throw my face up to the sky.
See not everybody lives
although everyone must die.
Tear down these walls around my heart
so I can learn to use my sight.
We don't have to live in darkness
if we step into the light.

After the storm,
when your foundation is exposed,
the core of who you are
is left out naked in the cold.
You look around and see the wreckage
how the dust lingers in the air.
The ashes of a life once lived,
each choice that led you there.

Cast off these fears.
Throw my face up to the sky.
See not everybody lives
although everyone must die.
Tear down these walls around my heart
so I can learn to use my sight.
We don't have to live in darkness
if we step into the light.
